Kahu Michaela is your ceremony Officiant, not a wedding planner. She offers Hawaiian-style ceremonies for all! Take a moment to review the ceremony options. Pricing is the same for weddings, elopements, and vow renewals, with additional charges for locations beyond the Kohala Coast.

We would be happy to recommend a beach location.

#1. Wedding Officiant Services:

Michaela will officiate your wedding or vow renewal ceremony. Once confirmed, we can schedule a 20-minute consultation to discuss beach options, ceremony script, and the processional. Along with 5 minutes of amateur photos taken on your cell phone after the ceremony, should you choose not to hire a photographer. **SERVICE FEE:** $495.00

#2. Marriage License Signing: (Legal Requirements Only)

Available between 2 PM and 3 PM at Waikoloa Beach Resort or my office in Waikoloa Village. Cash Only.

Includes legal requirements, signing, and a finalized marriage with the state of Hawaii. **SERVICE FEE:** $150.00.

**Add $100.00 for a Short and Sweet ceremony: $250.00

#3. Hawaiian Blessing:

Experience an authentic Hawaiian Blessing. This service is designed for those who already have an officiant for their wedding ceremony. The blessing includes a conch shell, Hawaiian chant, ring blessing, and lei exchange.

**SERVICE FEE:** $450.00

#4. Officiant to Legalize Marriage License

Perfect for couples with another officiant who need assistance with processing their marriage in Hawaii. This service provides a simple marriage license signing at your ceremony venue or a location of your choice. *Ideal for those needing an officiant to finalize and process their marriage license with the State of Hawaii. **SERVICE FEE:** $400.00

**Payment Process**

Upon booking confirmation, Michaela will send an invoice to finalize your arrangements. Payment can be made via Cash, Venmo, PayPal, or Zelle at the ceremony. If paying with cash, please bring the exact amount in a labeled envelope with your name and ceremony date. Michaela will provide a full payment receipt for your records.

Beach Permit and Liability Insurance: $75.00

ADD TRAVEL FEE FOR LOCATIONS OUTSIDE

OF KAILUA-KONA AND THE KOHALA COAST.

**TRAVEL & MILEAGE:**

Travel fees apply for locations beyond the Kohala Coast, as well as hiking, boat trips, and helicopter tours. Add $75 per hour and $0.75 per mile. Calculations are based on a round trip from Waikoloa Village to your location, using Google Maps.

**Late Fees:** Late fees will be charged if couples fall behind schedule without notification. Please note that the officiant is not required to stay if the couple is over 15 minutes late. We appreciate your understanding in maintaining the schedule.

Mana (mă'-na)

Sacred Power, Inner and Spiritual Strength

In Hawaiian culture, mana is understood as a spiritual energy or life force that permeates all things. It's not just a physical energy but also a supernatural or divine power that can reside in people, places, and objects. Mana is believed to be both internal and external, and it can be gained or lost through actions and interactions. The respect of mana, the enhancement of mana, and the protection of great mana from pollution gave rise to many rules and protocols in Hawaiian society.

**Additional Fees & Services**

**Non-Refundable Retainer/Deposits by request** Secures your date and covers some pre-planning time. 50% with balance due at ceremony.

**Travel & Mileage**

Fees for locations beyond Kohala Coast, Kailua-Kona, Waimea, and activities like hiking/boat trips.

$75 per hour and $0.75 per mile, calculated from Waikoloa Village via Google Maps.

**Estimated Rates for Locations**

- Hilo: 2.5 hrs + 100 miles = $811.00

- Kulaniapia Falls: 3 hrs + 140 miles = $879.00

- Volcano National Park: 4 hrs + 180 miles = $984.00

- Punaluu Black Sand Beach: 5 hrs + 200 miles = $1064.00

- Outer Island Package: $2500.00, includes transportation and fees.

**Special Holidays**

Add $200 for Valentine’s Day, Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, Halloween, and Christmas.

**Consultation**

$249.00 per hour. Non-refundable retainer secures your date.

**Late Fees**: Apply if the ceremony starts 20 minutes late unless a call is made. The officiant will wait a maximum of 30 minutes. The officiant is not required to wait longer than 30 minutes to start ceremony.

**Early Morning Services**

- $100 for 7:30 AM - 9:30 AM

- $200 for 6:00 AM - 7:00 AM, only at Waikoloa or Mauna Lani Beach Resorts.

Text Michaela at 808-896-7955 three days before the ceremony to confirm time and location. The couple is responsible for obtaining the marriage license. Tax and credit card fees will be added to your invoice.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. Is a permit required for my wedding?

Absolutely. You will need a permit for all public beaches. We will help you secure the permit based on your selected locations. The list of current beaches can be found on the State of Hawaii Wiki Permits website.

2. What if it rains on my day?

We love the Island’s weather, which can change rapidly. We typically stick to the scheduled date and time. In the rare event of extended weather issues, we can reschedule your wedding to a different date or location if available.

3. When is the best time for my wedding?

We recommend sunset for the best lighting and sunset experience. Remember, timing varies by location, as the sun rises in East Hawaii and sets in West Hawaii.

4. Are there sunrise fees?

There is a sunrise fee of $200 for locations at Waikoloa and Mauna Lani Beach Resorts. For events within 90 minutes of sunrise. Request a quote for all other locations.

5. Do I have to use the vows provided or can we share our own personal vows?

Use scripted vows or prepare your own personal vows. I actually prefer when couple prepare their own. I step to the side to allow privacy as well photographers have additional photo opportunities.
